Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) and other social theatre methods are applied increasingly in working with youth in diverse contexts, ranging from activism to therapy. In the exchange between practitioners across Europe, the need evolved to deepen the theoretical and practical knowledge base and create long-term networks in Europe to effectively apply TO methods in the work with young people. Exploring diversity in Theatre of the Oppressed (Diversi T.O.) aims to be a platform for youth workers and TO practitioners to share their knowledge and experience with the objective of tackling questions of possibilities, limitations and developments in applying TO in the different contexts and professional fields. In October 2013, we held an initial project week in Vienna with participants from Austria, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.
